Are your kids bored during the lockdown? Have you run out of ideas to keep them busy? From comic books and dance, to circus arts and science, here are some fun and educational online activities for all tastes and ages to help families in need of inspiration.
May is comic book month
Exceptionally this year, programming for comic book month will be held entirely online. The event includes contests, favourite picks and free access to comics in English and French.
For young inquiring minds
Do all bees make honey? What is a shooting star? Where does light on fire flies come from? Space for Life has videos to satisfy the restless curiosity of kids and their parents. You can find a variety of activities to do at home with the children on astronomy, insects and plants.
Dance at home
In an effort to get kids moving and stimulate their creativity, the organization Bouge de là posts videos titled “Danse chez toi!” (Dance at home) twice a week, which encourage young budding choreographers to dance. A new theme is featured each week, usually inspired from an everyday item.
Intro to circus arts
Does your child dream of becoming an acrobat? From rolling to balancing, learn various circus art techniques demonstrated by La marche du crabe (in French). Then you can carefully recreate the moves at home with your little ones.
