The Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro will be holding a magical, family-friendly and fun event for the Canada Day celebration on July 1st, but mandatory reservations are required. Discover all the details and reserve your entry pass here!
Canada Day is back in 2021 with a reinvented format to avoid large crowds.
What’s new? The roles are reversed! Instead of watching a parade being static on foot, you will experience the magic of from the comfort of your family car, or in a wagon train if you do not own a car.
The event will take place on the Borough hall parking lot, located at 13665, boulevard de Pierrefonds.
Thematic: Tales Around the World
The event entitle “Tales Around the World: a journey into an enchanted universe for Canada Day” has ever everything you love: floats, dance troupes, comedians, mascots, music, and of course, lots of fun! Smiles and sparkles in your eyes guaranteed.
Free, but limited spots!
In order to ensure that the event is safe and that sanitary measures related to COVID-19 are respected, the borough has shown great creativity and offers you a concept that allows to control the traffic on the site where the festivities will take place: spots are therefore limited!
Online ticketing service opens June 16
To participate, you must reserve your spot in advance and choose one of the time slots offered on the online ticketing service.
Tickets will only be available starting Wednesday, June 16 at 10 a.m., at which time it will be possible to reserve your seat. First come, first served!
*This event is open to Pierrefonds-Roxboro residents.
1. Car Entry Pass
As the ride is done inside your family vehicle, you must reserve 1 ticket per family.
2. Pedestrian Entry Pass
Citizens who do not own a car can also reserve their participation spot, but will have to wear a face mask throughout the ride, which will take place outside, aboard a wagon train (1 wagon per family bubble).
A confirmation email will be sent to you once your reservation is complete. Please pay attention to the important information that will be sent to you, in order to know the entrance of the site, the instructions to follow and to listen to the podcasts of the “Tales around the World”, which will allow you to follow the narrative of the event.
Bring non-perishable goods
As it is the case during each event held by the borough, The Traveling Cart will be present on site, in which you are invited to drop off a bag containing non-perishable goods items. These items will be given to local community organizations to fill the food banks on our territory, which our population benefits from all year long.
Other programming: Pop-up shows in public parks
In addition to the main event with required registration, three pop-up shows are also planned in the parks of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, in order to animate our neighborhoods on July 1st. These performances are free, accessible to all and no registration is needed.
- Grier Park - 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Cyril-W.-McDonald Park - 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
- Cérès Park - 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
*The hours of the spontaneous performances will only be revealed a few hours before Canada Day on our borough’s Facebook page.
The main idea of these performances is to present a festive musical experience, easy to access, that spreads joy and good humor. Physical distancing will have to be respected by the spectators present.
It will be the Fanfare de l’Île, composed of 10 to 12 musicians, among the best in Montreal, who will wander around the traditional jazz repertoire, in the three targeted parks.
