Landscaping at Parc Lefebvre

Seeding and tree planting will take place at Parc Lefebvre to repair the damage caused by construction of the retention basin.

This work will take place in the fall of 2022, to avoid the heat of the summer season.

A major project

This major project, which began in 2017, required expert input from numerous city teams and specialized companies. Prior to commissioning the basin, several structures were built on four different sites:

  • The underground retention basin, holding 20,000 m3, the equivalent of eight Olympic-sized swimming pools
  • A control chamber adjacent to the basin that houses the control valves (industrial-size taps) and their operating equipment
  • An entrance building or aedicula that houses, among other things, systems for real-time management of the basin
  • Interceptor structures to divert water from existing sewer mains to the retention basin
  • A 900 mm sewage collector line.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Evenings and weekends on an exceptional basis.
