Getting around on Île Bizard during the 2024 Presidents' Cup
From September 24 to 29, 2024, a major international golf tournament will be held. Do you live or work on Île Bizard? See what methods of transportation are possible and how to get a sticker for your vehicle.
During the Presidents’ Cup event, an average of 30,000 people are expected each day. There are several ways to get to Île Bizard.
Getting to Île Bizard
A traffic filtering system will be set up to limit the number of vehicles on the island during the event and ensure its safety.
A special configuration will be set up for traffic on and around the Pont Jacques-Bizard.
By car
Only vehicles with an event sticker will be allowed access to Île Bizard.
- To cross the bridge, vehicles will have to go to the filtering zone, located on eastbound Boulevard de Pierrefonds between Rue Hamel and Boulevard Jacques-Bizard.
- New : during the afternoon rush, vehicles will be able to access the Jacques-Bizard bridge from Boulevard de Pierrefonds in both directions and no longer only from Boulevard de Pierrefonds Est;
- New : the filtering system will be suspended each day, at the end of the day, once Presidents Cup operations are completed.
Delivery trucks will be able to enter Île-Bizard without a sticker.
How to get a sticker
Each home will receive 3 stickers in the mail. Place your sticker on the the upper right corner of the windshield of your vehicle. If you need additional stickers, visit a point of service with proof of residence.

Institutions and businesses are also invited to visit a point of service to get stickers for their needs.
You don’t need a sticker to get around the island, just to cross the Pont Jacques-Bizard.
It is strictly prohibited to sell a sticker.
By public transportation
STM bus routes may be adjusted. See the STM Web site for details.
Special shuttles will be offered between the incentive parking lots for attendees and the Royal Montréal Golf Club. These shuttles are reserved for ticketholders. See the event’s website for details.
By the ferry
The ferry connecting Laval to Île Bizard will be reserved exclusively for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles with a sticker for the duration of the event.
To take the ferry with your car, go to the waiting and screening area located at 555 Avenue des Bois, in Laval. A numbered ticket will be given to you upon presentation of the sticker. This ticket must be presented to the ferry operator to board. Please expect a waiting time.
Once on the island, a shuttle for pedestrians, connecting the ferry dock to the competition site, will be available.
On foot or by bike
No restrictions.
Bike racks will be available at the competition site.
Parking on Île Bizard
From September 24 to 29, 2024, street parking will be prohibited anywhere on Île Bizard (by-law CA28 0018). This special measure does not apply to the Sainte-Geneviève sector. Its purpose is to ensure that emergency vehicles can get to the scene in the event of an incident.
Any vehicle that does not comply with these parking restrictions will be towed, with the exception of vehicles with a sticker issued by the city of Montreal for parking on designated streets, which may continue to park in the prescribed areas during the event.
