From March 11 to April 22, young rappers between the ages of 12 and 17 will perform before the general public during the finals of the MC Challenge.

Participants will compete in the five following events:

  • Solo: Writing a complex rap with a strong or moving message
  • Improv: Presenting a concept in a spontaneous and creative way
  • MC vs. DJ: Adapting to different musical and rhythmic styles
  • Circle: Collaborating and showing cohesiveness within a group

The winners of each borough final will participate in a series of workshops led by artists from the rap community. The workshops will allow them to prepare for the grand finale in Montréal, scheduled for the month of July.
