Are you looking for fun ways to keep the kids busy during spring break? Montréal’s nature parks offer activities that are sure to delight the whole family. Your kids will come home happy … and so will you!
What could be more fun than playing outside on a winter day when the mercury rises by a few degrees and the sun is out? This is your last chance this winter to try fatbiking (in French only), take a dogsled ride, enjoy a stroll under the stars (traditional, guided or themed), or introducing kids to snow yoga (in French only).
You can also borrow snowshoes free of charge and explore these vast outdoor spaces. Sledding and snowshoes are also free during “Les Hivernales”(in French only), an outdoor winter celebration that also features roasted marshmallows.
Especially for your sweet tooth
The Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques’ sugar shack (in French only) is very popular this time of year. You can enjoy a horse-drawn carriage to the sugar shack. Once you’re there, you can feast on maple taffy, pancakes and maple syrup, homemade soup or a hot drink.
You can learn all about maple water, from tapping to processing, in a workshop, or enjoy a delicious afternoon at sugaring-off tastings. The sugaring-off race, which features educational games, storytelling and legends, is sure to be a good time.
To end your day at the cabin, head over to the ecological farm, where you can see cows, sheep, goats, pigs and rabbits. A must-see for young children!
Twice during the week, shuttle service to the Bois-de-Liesse, du Cap-Saint- Jacques or the Pointe-aux-Prairies parks is available. Don’t wait - reserve your seats now.
And have a great winter break in Montréal’s nature parks!
