Urban agriculture in Lachine

On May 23, the Borough’s community and collective gardens will reopen for already registered users. The health rules, indicated by signs posted on the premises, must be followed. No new registrations are permitted.

In 2020, gardens will open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Reminder of health instructions
  • Hand washing is mandatory upon entering and exiting the garden (with soap and water or with an alcohol-based solution provided on site).

  • You are encouraged to use your own gardening tools. Avoid sharing personal tools and limit the use of shared tools as much as possible.

  • Wash your hands before and after using shared tools, including watering systems.

  • Use the product provided on the premises to disinfect tools. Read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Wash your hands after disinfecting gardening tools.

  • All gatherings (2 people or more) are forbidden in the garden.

  • The garden is reserved for registered gardeners.

  • One person is allowed per box, with the exception of single parents with their children or the caregiver of a person with reduced mobility.

  • Access is forbidden to any person presenting COVID-19 symptoms or who is in voluntary or mandatory isolation.

  • Should you develop symptoms while in the garden, you must leave the premises immediately, self-isolate and call 1 877 644-4545. You must also inform the person in charge of community gardens in your borough.

Community gardens in Lachine

Three community gardens are available to residents for kitchen gardening and horticulture.

Remembrance Garden

To have access to a small garden or for any other information, please contact the Borough. In 2020, no new registrations are permitted.  The related fees will have to be paid when the Bureau Accès Montréal - Lachine is reopened.

Collective gardens in Lachine

Three collective gardens are available to residents who like gardening collectively and share the fruits of their harvest.
