Description

A pictorial movement that revolutionized art history, Impressionism celebrates 150 years in 2024.

On April 15, 1874, around thirty artists including Monet, Cézanne, Degas, Renoir and even Morisot, all rejected from the Salon de Paris, decided to create their own exhibition in a studio owned by their photographer friend, Nadar. The Monet painting, “Impression, Sunrise”, was the focal point of this artistic movement. Despite the caustic criticism and cool public reception, a new pictorial trend emerged.

Véronique Millet will present a recap of this vital movement in art history and its key players.
