Climate plan: 46 ambitious measures to achieve carbon neutrality
Montréal launches its Climate Plan 2020-2030, a critical step toward achieving its ecological transition goals.
The Climate Plan 2020-2030
The Climate Plan is the roadmap to reduce the community’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 55% (below 1990 levels) within 10 years and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It also aims to increase the city’s capacity to adapt to climate change, while taking vulnerable people into account.
46 ambitious measures
This Plan is the result of collaboration with different administrative units, civil society stakeholders and experts from different fields. The Climate Plan includes 46 actions, most of which will be deployed by 2030. These actions notably concern the electrification of transport, greening and improving the energy efficiency of buildings.
