Four new members for the Conseil jeunesse de Lachine
The appointment of the four new members of the Conseil jeunesse de Lachine (Lachine’s youth council) was announced at the Borough Council meeting on November 2.
These young people, between the ages of 15 and 25, will represent their generation in dealing with elected officials and the Administration.
The appointments were made following a recruitment campaign that took place on social networks. The term of office of these new members is two years; however, the members may renew it for a maximum of four years.
The selection committee received, evaluated and recommended the following four nominations:
- Lydia Fleur Boyer, a student at Dorval-Jean-XXIII high school
- Luca Schiavoni, a student at McGill University in Political Science
- Flore Tsafack Tsobeng, a graduate of the Master’s degree program in Biomedical Engineering
- Aleksandra Urban, a student at Université de Montréal
These new members join the other members of the Conseil jeunesse de Lachine: Emma Bursey, Camila Cabarcas-Arrieta, Doha Elahoua, Guadelupe Gonzalez-Dutra, Catherine Internoscia, Julian Menga and Jeanne Castagnier-Charlebois.
These young people will make a concrete contribution to the democratic life of the district by meeting—once a month—virtually, given the pandemic situation—in order to submit recommendations and express opinions to elected officials and the Administration as well as organize events and activities.
