Find out all details about the layout of the new playground course in the youth section of the Pierrefonds library!
Open to the grand public since May 2019, the new Pierrefonds Library has quickly established itself as a strong, inclusive and unifying cultural and community site in Pierrefonds-Roxboro. To visit it, is to adopt it!
Young and old, book lovers, vinyl enthusiasts, keen creators, and inspired students alike will all find something to their liking in this bright, uncluttered, state-of-the-art space.
The charm and uniqueness of the Pierrefonds Library, in addition to its exceptional architecture designed in harmony with the surrounding nature, also lies in the creation of various thematic areas within the building itself.
In fact, these zones not only allow users to immerse themselves in the activity they have come to do at the library, to access several tools and references adapted to their needs, but also to be in the presence of people with whom they share common interests. No matter where we choose to settle, we love it and we don’t see the time go by!
Layout of a playground course in the youth section
New: Always with the objective to offer an innovative environment adapted to the needs of all its users, the Pierrefonds-Roxboro Culture and Libraries Department has worked, in collaboration with the firm Mousse Architecture de Paysage, on the design of a play area in the youth section.
The goal of this new layout is to make the children’s stay not only more fun and enjoyable, but also to encourage them to explore the library and the world of books differently!
The modules and furnitures have been carefully studied to adapt to the ergonomics and needs of children, particularly taking into account the comfort and spatial orientation factors.
The designed project fits into the existing space by offering places for reading, games, well-being and discovery at the youngsters’ level, through the addition of play modules and furnitures.
4 thematic areas in the youth section
Four areas with different themes and vocations have been arranged among the shelves already in place. Original and adaptable modules have been placed on the ground, preserving an aesthetic continuity of the existing materiality and adaptability to the changing needs of its users.
The project thus adds a touch of intimacy and familiarity to the luminous and vast library.
Houses, carpets, clotheslines, armchairs, play tables, work tables and discoveries now allow children and their families to better enjoy their visit!
