The borough has been distributing free masks since May 23 at various service points, as well as through 25 partner community organizations.
These organizations take care of distributing masks to their clients through several means:
- Masks are added to food baskets distributed by food banks;
- Others are handed out to parents of children attending municipal day camps;
- Occasional distribution operations are organized in busy locations in the borough, such as parks;
- Masks have been distributed door-to-door to vulnerable persons living in low-rent housing.
Masks were also handed out to the public at the Accès Montréal office and in libraries.
In total, around 76,000 washable masks and 126,000 disposable ones were distributed through these operations.
Mask distribution is proceeding and will continue while supplies last.
