Starting in the fall of 2024, innovative new companies will benefit from a new world-class space in the heart of downtown to drive their startup efforts and growth.

This new innovation hub, called Ax-C, is the brainchild of the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). It will bring together, under the same roof, key resources aimed at stimulating, supporting and commercializing innovative technological solutions, including:

  • a concentration of services and experts (mentorship, business plans, sales and marketing, human resources, international development, etc.)
  • corporate partners capable of providing financial support for product development or acquisition
  • product prototyping laboratories
  • investments and other sources of public and private funding
  • affordable office spaces

The objective of this initiative is to provide annual support to more than 150 startups and offer work premises to more than 50 high-potential enterprises.

A significant investment with major benefits

The city will contribute up to $2.5 million over three years to this project, in addition to contributions from the governments of Québec ($38.5 million) and Canada ($7 million), for a total investment of $48 million. The project is expected to generate more than $5 billion and create 6,500 jobs by 2035.

The exact location of Ax-C will be announced in the near future. For more information (in French).
