The borough of L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève is calling for applications to fill two (2) permanent positions and an (1) alternate position on the Planning Advisory Committee.

Mandate

The mandate consists of providing advice on planning and development applications submitted to it. It provides guidance, orientation, awareness and support to citizens on certain subjects. The committee then issues a recommendation that will be submitted to the elected officials. This recommendation will guide and direct the elected officials in their decision making.
In addition, the committee will be called upon to give its opinion on certain land use planning rules, such as a project for a minor exemption, a site plan, architectural integration or specific urban planning projects.

Required profile

  • Interest or expertise related to urban planning, land development, architecture and the environment;
  • Sense of fairness, discernment and respect;
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills;
  • Good knowledge of the borough of L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève.

Composition and meeting

The committee is composed of seven (7) members, including five (5) members appointed by the borough council, chosen from among the borough’s residents, from lists of recommendations submitted to the borough council. The other two positions are held by City Councillors appointed by the Borough Council.
Twelve regular meetings are scheduled during the same year. They are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Special meetings may be held in exceptional cases.
Meetings are open to the public and applicants for the various applications are encouraged to attend.

Submit an application

Those interested in becoming involved in the L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève Borough’s Planning Advisory Committee must fill out this form.

Interested candidates may submit their application by mail no later than October 8, 2020, to the attention of Mr. Michael Ledoux, Advisor, Development, Permits and Inspection, 406 Montée de l’Église, L’Île-Bizard, Québec, H9C 1G9, or by e-mail at [email protected]

Only selected candidates will be contacted. They will be part of a selection process.
