The RénoPlex subsidy program has been so successful that the city is obliged to temporarily suspend the submission of applications, effective July 23, 2021 at 5 p.m. All applications received until then will be processed. Applications will be accepted again in January 2022.
Launched in February 2021, this enhanced residential renovation subsidy program largely exceeded our forecasts. We had expected to support the renovation of 325 buildings per year, for a total sum of $4.9 million. However, we have already received close to 1,000 applications, for an estimated investment of $9.1 million, almost double the projected budget.
The program’s popularity shows the extent to which it meets the needs of owners and is contributing to Montréal’s economic recovery.
Thanks to the enhancement of our budgets and teams, we will be able to accelerate the processing of applications and follow up on all applications by the end of the year.
RénoPlex is geared to the owners of residential buildings with one to five dwellings. It offers financial assistance for work aimed at maintaining buildings in good condition and making them more resilient to climate change. The program also includes provisions aimed at protecting the city’s affordable rental housing stock.
