Given the success of the first edition of the Fête des Récoltes in 2019, the Arrondissement de Saint-Laurent, in collaboration with VertCité, will organize a second edition of this celebration on Saturday, September 18 at Parc Gohier from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On this occasion, visitors will be able to participate in activities to learn more about urban agriculture and all that surrounds the practice of this increasingly popular activity. Much space will be given to community organizations and actors fighting against food insecurity who will take the opportunity to educate visitors and invite them to get involved as volunteers to help them in their various missions.
The program includes, among other things, a farmer’s market bringing together organic producers and local artisans, urban farming equipment, an exchange table for seeds, cuttings and perennials open to all, a reading corner for children, a free corn roast from noon, performances by the traditional music group La Chasse-Balcon and the Drôldadon theater troupe, as well as the presence of the Skinjackin collective which will create ephemeral tattoos free of charge for young and old.
In addition, it will be possible to participate in several conferences and workshops on site. Places are limited to meet health requirements and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The complete program is available on the VertCité Facebook page.
The event will take place rain or shine.
From September 1, the vaccination passport is mandatory for events of more than 50 people. It will therefore be required to access the site and will be requested at the entrance.
