Saint-Laurent’s Urban Sugar Shack: To (Re)discover Québec Traditions
Organized by VertCité and the SDC Quartier D, the Urban Sugar Shack returns to parc Beaudet, located near the Collège metro station, for its 17 edition, offering a very lively program combining the discovery of Québec folklore with a chance to taste traditional dishes.
On Saturday, March 18, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., children and adults are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring by participating in the public part of the event. Numerous activities are in store for visitors, such as a music show, traditional dancing, maple-laced food tasting, a maple water evaporator demonstration as well as the opportunity to taste maple cotton candy or taffy on snow for only $2.
“The Urban Sugar Shack is a real tradition on our territory. Saint-Laurent’s Administration is therefore pleased to renew its commitment to this wonderful family celebration that presents Québec’s folk culture in a beautiful way.”
“The Urban Sugar Shack is an event that brings together all Saint-Laurent residents around sugar farming. We are very proud to be able to provide this opportunity to the whole community.”
“We are very happy to partner with VertCité once again for the 2023 edition of the Urban Sugar Shack. This is an event that showcases our territory. We look forward to welcoming not only the citizens of Saint-Laurent, but also residents from neighboring boroughs.”
