Montréal provides funding to Indigenous artists for the creation of public art and murals.
First project for ephemeral public artworks
This call for projects aims to support Québec-based Indigenous artists who live or are artistically active in Montréal, with little or no experience in the creation of public artworks. The proposed creations can be classical (sculptures, paintings), performance- or event-based.
Mural art projects
This call for projects is open to Indigenous not-for-profit organizations, Québec-based Indigenous creators (who live or are artistically active in Montréal) and Indigenous art collectives.
Artists selected in each of these calls for projects will be provided with Indigenous mentoring.
These calls are part of the city’s Indigenous Reconciliation strategy. They are funded under the Agreement on the Cultural Development of Montréal, made between the Québec government and the city.
