Lachine COVID-19 Emergency Fund

Last updated April 17, 2020
RelatedPrevention and Social ActionFunding and Assistance

The Arrondissement de Lachine and the Caisse Desjardins de Lachine have joined forces to set up a $60,000 COVID-19 Emergency Fund for our territory. This emergency financial assistance is intended to support the efforts of the community organizations on Borough territory as well as the economic vitality of its employment sectors and commercial streets.

We invite you to submit a project that could receive financial assistance. The Lachine COVID-19 Emergency Fund has two components: social and economic.

Social component

With the increase in the number of requests for assistance in Lachine, the Fund wants to ensure continuity of services for the most vulnerable residents. Community organizations may apply for assistance to adapt their services to meet the needs of residents affected by the pandemic.

Since the Arrondissement de Lachine and the Caisse Desjardins de Lachine wish to complement the emergency assistance offered by Centraide of Greater Montréal, organizations that are likely to receive - or that have already received - funding from Centraide of Greater Montreal will have to submit complementary projects that have not been funded.

Eligibility criteria

  • To receive this financial assistance, the essential activities and services must meet basic needs, such as food, clothing, psycho-social support, human resources, etc.
  • Eligible organizations must already be known to—or supported by—the Borough and the Fund’s partners.

Economic criteria

The Fund will help finance projects submitted by economic development partners and aimed at reducing the impact of the health crisis on the Borough’s economic vitality.

Eligibility criteria

  • Relevance and realism of the project
  • Benefits and impacts
  • Structuring effect on commercial vitality
  • Ability of the applicant organization to carry out the project
  • Consistency with the Borough’s values and priorities
  • Support and involvement of business people

No direct assistance to private enterprise will be possible.

Examination process (for both components)

The Borough has set up a committee that will examine the applications. A reply will be emailed to you quickly. It is important to leave us your contact information so that we can reach you if we have any questions about your application.

Timeline

Submission of applications on an ongoing basis until the fund is depleted during the pandemic period

Procedure

Please fill out the form online.

If your project is accepted, payment can be made quickly by direct deposit if you are registered for this method of payment. If not, please call 514 872-8824.
