Submit a request for official documents from the municipal court

Do you require copies of official documents issued by the municipal court in connection with your criminal record? Learn about the steps that you need to follow.

Requests for documents

You can submit the following applications:

  • Application for a pardon
  • Application for a certificate of conviction
  • Application for a copy on CD (data or audio)
  • Application for copies of documents

In order to submit your application, you must complete the form provided for that purpose and attach the required documents or information, based on the options you checked:

Application for a pardon

  • Attach the document entitled “Court Information Form” completed by the applicant. The form is included with the pardon guide.
  • Attach a copy of the defendant’s criminal record issued by the RCMP. (See the form included in the guide).

Application for a certificate of conviction

  • Attach a copy of the defendant’s criminal record issued by the RCMP.

Application for a copy on CD 

  • Specify the type of information (data or audio) .
  • Include the date and the place of trial.
  • Specify the section to copy.

Application for copies of documents

  • If the application concerns a record of the minutes, please specify the dates required.
  • If the application concerns any other type of document, please specify.

Fees

  • Application for a pardon: free of charge
  • Application for a certificate of conviction: Free of charge
  • Copy on CD: $10.20 + number of minutes x $0.35
  • Documents concerning penal matters: Number of pages x $3.00 
  • Documents concerning criminal matters: Number of pages x $0.25 
  • Documents concerning civil matters: $3.65 for the first 10 pages + $0.55 for each subsequent page
