By delaying mowing for a few days or a few weeks, you will provide a food supply for bees. Increasingly endangered, bees need us to provide them with an abundance of food. In retur, they pollinate more than a third of what we eat!

A regulation suspended

Given this Dandelion Challenge, the enforcement of the bylaw on maintenance of private property will be postponed for a few weeks in the borough of Lachine, until the dandelions have fully bloomed. 
Since this challenge was launched in 2021, a number of municipalities and businesses as well as thousands of residents have joined the challenge spearheaded by beekeepers from Miel&Co.

The growing movement of pollination 

This movement contributes to the preservation of pollinating insects and biodiversity. The borough is taking part in the efforts to promote pollination by implementing other measures such as the delayed mowing pilot project in three areas of Lachine.
