Every year, many cultural and sports events organized by our partners take place in Lachine. For the occasion, some streets will come alive with music, sports and unusual discoveries. We invite you to discover them.

Dame festive: a bold, new event

May 25 and 26 on rue Notre-Dame

A very first for Lachine! In a New Orleans-inspired atmosphere, rue Notre-Dame will come alive and welcome local artists, artisans and micro-brewers to the street for its new cultural festival. The Dame festive event will feature jazz, swing, reggae, folk and pop artists as well as exhibitors showcasing local products and talent.

The following streets will be closed to traffic May 24 at 7 a.m. – May 27 at 10 a.m.

  • Rue Notre-Dame, between 10e Avenue and 14e Avenue
  • 11e Avenue, 12e Avenue and 13e Avenue, between William-MacDonald and Saint-Louis streets

Cycling Tuesdays all summer long

June 5 - August 6 at Parc LaSalle

It’s the summer get-together for cycling lovers. Participants battle it out to compete along a 10-stage route, with a 1.64-km stage every Tuesday evening. Points are awarded to the top five riders in each race. The total number of points determines the order of the championship winners. Have fun following the same route at your own pace by taking part in Cyclovia on August 6, the day of the Mardis cyclistes (Cycling Tuesdays) finals.

The streets surrounding the park will be closed every Tuesday, 3:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., until August 6.

Montreal Children’s Litterature Festival

August 11 at Parc Noël-Spinelli

A finalist for the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s Grand Prix 2022, the Festival de littérature jeunesse de Montréal is a pure delight for families: storytelling, shows, book signings, artistic creations and more. Say hello to the staff of Lachine’s libraries, partners of the event.

Boulevard Saint-Joseph will be closed on August 11, between 21e Avenue and 24e Avenue.
