Not-to-be-Missed Festivals and Street Events in Lachine
Every year, many cultural and sports events organized by our partners take place in Lachine. For the occasion, some streets will come alive with music, sports and unusual discoveries. We invite you to discover them.
Saint-Pierre en fête
September 21 and 22 in Parc Kirkland
Enjoy a weekend of festivities you won’t soon forget!
On September 21, 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., the Saint-Pierre sector will come alive for the traditional Fête de la paix. It’s a real family celebration, with entertainment, music, sports tournaments and activities, inflatable play structures and much more. A movie in the park at 7 p.m. will bring the day to a close.
On September 22, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., come and experience your first Festi’Caraïbes Saint-Pierre! Tropical ambience guaranteed!
Street food (jerk chicken and other specialties, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Caribbean Carnival Parade in the neighborhood, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Inflatable games, hair and makeup, 12:30 p.m.
Performance by renowned artists on stage (Kalmunity, Angie & Chaka, IceMan, Corydon, Saboo, Shota, Doggies, Daddybird, Natasha Marie, Taurus, Sampaloo and GFlex, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Closing ceremony, 5:30 p.m.
Rue des Érables between avenue Duranceau and avenue Boyer will be closed to traffic on September 22, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Lachine Bonneville Half-Marathon
October 6 in Parc René-Lévesque
Come and enjoy a race designed for all levels on the emblematic site of the Lachine Canal. Whatever your age or fitness level, at the Demi-marathon Bonneville de Lachine, there’s a distance for you: 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km or the half marathon. Register alone, with friends or family.
Boulevard Saint-Joseph will be closed on October 6, between chemin du Musée and 56e Avenue.
Dame festive: a bold, new event
May 25 and 26 on rue Notre-Dame (past event)
A very first for Lachine! In a New Orleans-inspired atmosphere, rue Notre-Dame will come alive and welcome local artists, artisans and micro-brewers to the street for its new cultural festival. The Dame festive event will feature jazz, swing, reggae, folk and pop artists as well as exhibitors showcasing local products and talent.
The following streets will be closed to traffic May 24 at 7 a.m. – May 27 at 10 a.m.
- Rue Notre-Dame, between 10e Avenue and 14e Avenue
- 11e Avenue, 12e Avenue and 13e Avenue, between William-MacDonald and Saint-Louis streets
Cycling Tuesdays all summer long
June 5 - August 6 at Parc LaSalle (past event)
It’s the summer get-together for cycling lovers. Participants battle it out to compete along a 10-stage route, with a 1.64-km stage every Tuesday evening. Points are awarded to the top five riders in each race. The total number of points determines the order of the championship winners. Have fun following the same route at your own pace by taking part in Cyclovia on August 6, the day of the Mardis cyclistes (Cycling Tuesdays) finals.
The streets surrounding the park will be closed every Tuesday, 3:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., until August 6.
Montreal Children’s Litterature Festival
August 11 at Parc Noël-Spinelli (past event)
A finalist for the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s Grand Prix 2022, the Festival de littérature jeunesse de Montréal is a pure delight for families: storytelling, shows, book signings, artistic creations and more. Say hello to the staff of Lachine’s libraries, partners of the event.
Boulevard Saint-Joseph will be closed on August 11, between 21e Avenue and 24e Avenue.
