Discover the fascinating connections between native plants and the insects that depend on them—through art and painting!

Description

This hands-on, 2-hour workshop invites participants to explore Quebec’s native host plants and the pollinators they support, while reflecting on their own relationship to the natural world… even if bugs make you a little nervous!

Led by the dynamic Krin Haglund, a passionate biodiversity advocate, director of the non-profit Jardin Buzz, and expert in native plants of Quebec, and Carrey Milne, a visual artist and art therapist, this creative workshop blends learning, self-expression, and fun.

Carrey draws inspiration from nature—flowers, plants, insects—and from quilt patterns passed down by her mother and grandmother. Since moving to Montreal a year ago, she has fallen in love with the city’s vibrant arts scene.

This hands-on workshop is open to all skill levels—no artistic experience needed, and all materials are provided. Participants will leave with a deeper appreciation of local biodiversity… and a painting inspired by their personal connection to nature.

Bilingual. Ages 15 and up.
