A parking lot tax applies to parking spaces for non-residential buildings anywhere within Montréal’s city limits. In parts of downtown, this tax is charged for both indoor and outdoor parking. In other areas, a parking lot tax is only charged in outdoor parking lots that are larger than 10,000 m2.

The amount of this tax is calculated by multiplying the taxable area of the parking lot by a rate that varies according to location.

If you believe that the data used to calculate the amount of this tax is in error, you can ask us to can ask us to check it within 60 days after the annual tax account statement is sent out. An agent will contact you to follow up.
