Is your company planning to carry out occasional work that may emit pollutants into the atmosphere or require a discharge into the sewer, with or without treatment? Before starting the work, you must get a permit and meet certain requirements. Find out everything you need to know.
In accordance with city by-laws, a permit is required for any work that may involve a water discharge into the municipal sewer system.
A permit is also required for all general work or construction worksites that may generate airborne pollution. The requirement also applies to the following:
- surface cleaning, stripping, restoration or finishing
- crushing
- asbestos removal
