Sixty years ago, in 1965, the Bibliothèque du Vieux-Saint-Laurent as we know it today was taking shape. Ahead of the celebrations in September, its team is compiling a collection of memories to relive the moment across the ages!

Do you have any mementos or memorable stories to share? Submit these artefacts to help create an exhibition covering the six decades of this institution’s existence, which was stemming from a citizen initiative and that has remained firmly established in the community ever since!

Physical memories

The team is looking for photos of the building and district with the same name through all the eras, including small mementos such as documents, programs, membership cards, etc. You can keep your originals because they will be digitized or photographed. It is important to make sure that any people appearing in photos have your permission to submit them.

Testimonials and stories

Did you propose to your beloved, celebrate an important event or have an extraordinary meeting between the library stacks? Use the online form to send us your story in a few sentences before June 1.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll be able to add some historical context to the photos that are selected for the exhibition, which will be unveiled during the 60th Anniversary. The exhibition may also be published in whole or in part online or entirely online, and included in a souvenir book.
