This summer the city is launching a pilot project for camping at the Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques. Up to September 5, you can camp in one of the six campsites while enjoying nature just a few minutes away from the city.

For groups and families

The campsites are located near each other, and reservations for groups and a family are advisable.

The sites do not have services (no water, nor electricity), but there is a picnic table and a platform on which you can install a tent. The sites are not directly accessible in a vehicle. Carts are available to move material.

The nearby outdoor center offers access to restrooms, showers, and space for cooking and dishwashing.

Free activities for everyone

Free activities are offered for campers. You can paddle a mayak or a rabaska canoe, take part in a forest rally, visit the wetlands interpretation centre, play volleyball, or hear stories and legends around a campfire.

Costs and reservation

The daily cost to rent a camp site is $28 (taxes included). In addition to the camp site, the price includes access to the beach at Cap-Saint-Jacques for a family of 2 adults and 3 children. The cost of parking is additional.

To reserve a site, send an e-mail to [email protected]and provide the following information:

  • Name of user
  • Phone number
  • E-mail
  • Requested dates
  • Number of adults and children (17 and younger)
  • Requested activity(ies)

Outdoor staff will process requests and contact you to confirm your reservation.

This pilot project is a result of one of the major orientations of the Grand parc de l’Ouest: to enhance the use and accessibility of natural spaces.
