Microparks and microsquares
This project aims to create small green parks and squares in the city’s neighborhoods. It is one of the winning projects of the second edition of the city’s participatory budget.
Description
These new places for leisure and socialization take up underutilized parts of streets our public property. Their design reflects the character of their neighborhoods and is environmentally friendly.
This project includes 10 boroughs and has a total budget of $9.5 M.
Benefits
- Provide residents with green areas where they can socialize locally.
- Enable the population to reclaim public areas that had been mineralized.
- Contribute to creating a sense of belonging to neighborhoods and to reduce residents’ isolation.
