Registration for a training to become a day camp instructor

Saint-Laurent is looking for people aged 14 and over who would like to follow a training to a diplôme d’aptitudes aux fonctions d’animateur DAFA (camp counsellor skills diploma).

Training offered in French.

What is the DAFA?
The Diplôme d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animateur (DAFA) is a national training program for animators developed by national leisure organizations (NLO). Under the responsibility of the Conseil québécois du loisir (CQL), it aims to ensure the safety and quality of group activities for young people aged 5 to 17, across all regions of Quebec.

What is the training?
During this training, which lasts a minimum of 33 hours, registered participants will learn the theory and basic concepts needed to become an animator. Subsequently, they will complete a mandatory 35-hour internship, allowing them to apply the theory learned. With this diploma, participants are better equipped to obtain a position as a day camp animator in Saint-Laurent!

When?
Training: Every Saturday, from January 11 to February 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Internship: From March 3 to March 7, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
