You have a story to tell? Join us and ignite your creative writing process through mindful artful play.
You are signing up for 6 workshops, running from September 19 to October 31.
Please note: We will take a break for Thanksgiving weekend.
Description
Description:
Writing is a wonderful way to allow space for the heart to express compassion. This workshop series is for beginners in writing, as well as, for people who are working on writing projects already. Self-directed compassion, mindfulness practice and creative play will be incorporated into the series each week in a safe sacred space. Self-directed compassion is a method for releasing blocks in the way of our authentic creativity. Mindfulness exercises bring us closer to our center by quieting the mind and accessing the creative process. Engaging in creative play lets the inner child in all of us surface and stimulate our imagination. Join us for this enriching experience and empower your voice in expressing your authentic self from your heart.
Goal:
The goal of this workshop is to play again and bring lightness with compassion and mindfulness and unveil the creative process for writing art pieces.
Intention:
This workshop will provide an unstructured playground to access hidden layers of creativity and write freely and generate playful art pieces. Participants will share and offer feedback in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Desired Outcomes
1. Experience mindful sensations of quiet in the body and mind Participants will experience how mindfulness techniques can access sensitive feelings by grounding in stillness which can unfold their capacities to express compassion on a deeper level from an embodied self.
2. Engage in artful play to free up creativity Participants will experience “A Curious Childhood Mind” where we access joy and play to stimulate fruitful memories for expression in art and writing.
3. Discover confidence in open discussions of feedback Participants will give and receive feedback while maintaining listening, respect and empathy towards each other in a safe space.
4. Establish a writing practice Participants can take away the tools they incorporated to support ongoing writing projects, daily mindfulness and art pieces to continue their self-expression.
