Fils manqués? - La Tourbière
Can an actor orphaned by a father become anything other than a clown? René Bazinet and David-Alexandre Després, two circus legends who grew up without a dad, attempt to answer this question by examining their pain of abandonment and their desire to please.
Description
This tragic tale that is at once tender and hard-hitting, hilarious and unsettling, is also a nod to the cult pop-psychology book Père manquant, fils manqué… but in a style quite different from documentary theatre. Imagine Sol and Gobelet in a Janette Bertrand production… with a Beckettian aesthetic without the usual red nose. Sensitive souls, this one’s for you.
