Lequel est un Basquiat - Théâtre de la Sentinelle
Discover a story that explores identity, art, and inequality through Samy’s journey. Samy is a young Montréal graffiti artist of Haitian descent. He leaves artistic traces where Black people have made their mark on Montréal’s history.
Description
His talent is quickly spotted by a shady art dealer, and he receives an amazing offer: to become a forger, creating fake paintings by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The play explores themes of identity, art, racism and social inequality. It’s a powerful narrative channelling the controlled chaos of Basquiat’s paintings.
