Millepertuis - Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep - Lorganisme
Alone on stage, virtuoso dancer Walid Hammani embarks on an extended trance. His relentless, hypnotic dance evokes both the urgency of existing in the gaze of others and the need to return to oneself, striving to reconcile the euphoria and wisdom that inhabit him.
Description
Drawing from the vocabularies of popping and electro, of which he is a master, his gestures impress, amuse, unsettle and move. Just as the fiery yellow petals of the St. John’s wort plant conceal an earthy red ink, the performance seeks to reveal the depths of being and magnify the contradictions that define us.
