La rivière Saint-Pierre, réduite à la taille d'un ruisseau, qui coule au milieu d'une prairie

A Brief History of the Saint-Pierre River, or How to Lose a River: A lecture in French presented by Louise Legault.

Description

Historical lecture presented by the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Historical Society.

The Saint-Pierre River, which widened to form Lac à la Loutre, formed the southern boundary of NDG when the area was first settled in the 17th century. The farms in the region overlooked the river at the base of the cliff. Ms. Legault will examine the history of this important geographical feature of our neighborhood and the reasons for its disappearance.
