Get a "Artères en transformation" (Transforming Commercial Streets) subsidy

Eligible projects

  • Renovation of a storefront on the ground floor and in the basement 
  • Replacement, repair or modification of openings 
  • Repair or replacement of an awning, outdoor signage or outdoor lighting 
  • Development of a permanent terrace or access to the building
  • Renovation of exterior walls and protruding or decorative architectural elements
  • Renovation of the interior, framework, foundations and roof

Ineligible projects

  • Interior renovation if the exterior/facade of the building requires renovations 
  • Project for which another municipal subsidy has been granted
  • Projects carried out or work performed without the assistance of a design professional or by a contractor who does not hold a valid RBQ license

Subsidy amount

The subsidy covers:

  • 40% of the cost of eligible projects, or $250,000 maximum per building
  • 50% of the cost of professional design fees, or a maximum of 7.5% of the cost of eligible construction/renovation or a maximum of $10,000 per project

Get your subsidy payment

Your subsidy is paid in one instalment. To be paid, you must confirm that the all work undertaken is complete and declare that your company is compliant with the Charter of the French Language. Read the guide on this subject:

Complete the following 2 forms:

Please attach all of the following documents:

  • Copies of your eligible invoices and proof of bank payment
  • Copies of all permits required for the project/construction/renovation and proof of bank payment
  • Photos of the renovated spaces and the facade and exterior of the building

For the declaration, please attach only 1 of the following documents, according to your situation:

  • “Certificat de francisation” (official government document granted upon proof of your formal compliance with Québec’s French language regulatory standards)
  • Certificate of compliance
  • Certificate of registration
