Open to everyone, this major event will be the highlight of a wealth of free and wide-ranging summer program running from June 13 to August 28 at the borough’s parks and cultural venues.

OSM concert for Saint-Laurent Day

On Thursday, August 6, Parc Marcel Laurin will be at the heart of Saint-Laurent’s celebrations with a festive, social evening marking Saint Laurent Day.

The evening will build to a climax at 7:30 p.m. with an open-air concert by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, offering an outstanding musical experience under the stars, perfect for enjoying with family or friends. Conducted by Rafael Payare and hosted by André Robitaille, this musical event promises to be both vibrant and moving.

This major event forms part of the 2026–2029 strategic plan, with the objective of making Saint-Laurent shine far beyond its borders.

The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with many activities for all ages. Residents will have the chance to explore various booths, including those of the Bureau Accès Montréal, the Biblio mobile—offering reading opportunities, book loans and activities—as well as those of a number of community partners.

As for refreshments, snacks will be offered on site, including free corn on the cob.

Of note, leading up to this special event, a lecture will be held on August 5 at the Bibliothèque du Vieux Saint Laurent, providing an opportunity to delve into the world of classical music and enhance the audience’s experience.

Free, wide-ranging cultural programs all summer long

In addition to this major event, the 2026 Summer Celebrations will include a wealth of free activities for everyone: 

• Music performances (jazz, world music, singing)
• Circus, theatre and outdoor performances
• Dancing, yoga and hands-on workshops
• Outdoor movies and family activities
• Library programs at parks and cultural venues

Highlights include the following events: 

• SalSaintLaurent on June 17 at 7 p.m. at Parc Beaudet: Local talent takes centre stage with the Sabor 19 group, kicking off the summer with an explosive, festive and irresistible salsa that will have the audience dancing from the very first notes.
• FestiFête on July 8, 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., at Parc Poirier: Neighbourhood festivities with entertainment and performances, including Naxx Bitota “64” at 7:30 p.m. 
• Chameran en fête on July 22, starting at 4 p.m. at Parc Painter: This neighbourhood’s annual festivities feature entertainment, face painting, inflatable play structures and Abdell Grooz’s Diwane show at 7:30 p.m.
• Soccer – Street games on July 30, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m., at the Complexe sportif: Sports tournaments for ages 12-24

The Summer Celebrations are always a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together around culture, fun activities and, above all, the joy of being in each other’s company. This year, we are especially proud to welcome the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal for a big, free outdoor concert. This extraordinary event, which is part of our strategic planning, showcases the cultural vitality of Saint-Laurent, just like the rest of the free programs being held directly in our neighbourhoods, transforming public spaces into vibrant stages accessible to children and adults alike.
