However, the removal of the fencing does not mean the facility is ready to welcome the public just yet. Although construction has now been completed, a significant preparation phase is still underway to ensure everything is in place before opening day. 

As part of our commitment to transparency, we would like to provide an update on the project’s progress and outline the steps that remain before we can welcome you to your new Aquatic Complex.

The building is now in our hands 

The official handover of the building to the Borough marks a major milestone for the project. Our internal teams are now hard at work completing the final preparations required for opening.

Opening of the aquatic complex

We are thrilled to announce that the Pierrefonds-Roxboro Aquatic Complex will officially open its doors starting the week of November 9, 2026. The complex opening follows its official inauguration on September 28, 2026. It is the West Island’s first major indoor aquatic complex and is designed to serve the entire community. 

The opening will take place gradually, beginning with an initial offering of public swim sessions, giving residents the opportunity to discover and enjoy the long-awaited facilities.

Details regarding membership cards, registration procedures, admission fees and public swim schedules will be shared in the coming weeks. A complete schedule of aquatic programs and activities, including swimming lessons, will be introduced progressively beginning in winter 2027. 

We are excited to finally welcome the community into this landmark project, one of the most significant investments in the borough’s history and a facility that will enhance aquatic recreation opportunities across the West Island. We look forward to seeing you at the complex very soon!
