At the end of October, the borough of Lachine is planning a number of activities to celebrate Halloween.

We will be welcoming little monsters, ghosts and other characters to our libraries

Pumpkin decorating contest

October 17-23, library members can bring their decorated pumpkins to the Bibliothèque Saul-Bellow or Bibliothèque de Saint-PIerre. Requirements: The pumpkins must be full (not hollowed out) and be decorated to resemble a character from literature, a movie or a video game. Let your imagination run wild! October 24-30, residents will have the chance to vote for their favourite pumpkin. Many prizes will be given.

Draw of a big pot of candy

To obtain a draw coupon, young people aged 16 and under must borrow 5 books. Who will get the candies?

And much more activities

Added to the program are a murder mystery game, a colourful candy night puzzle in poster form as well as arts and crafts. On the last weekend of October, traditional activities such as storytelling hours will feature a Halloween touch.

Skating at Aréna Pierre « Pete » Morin

The arena will be decorated and special activities are planned for the occasion.

Animated film and candy treats at L’Entrepôt

The film Hôtel Transylvanie: Transformanie (in French) will be shown on the big screen at the Maison de Culture on Sunday, October 27 at 1:30 p.m. Discover the mysterious invention Le rayon monstrificateur, which turns Johnny into a monster. A race against time begins in search of the cure. Candy will be offered to children dressed up in costumes.

Halloween on rue Notre-Dame

The Borough contributes financially to the shopkeepers’ candy hunt, the major annual event organized by the SDC rue Notre-Dame. Put on your best costumes and come show them off on October 25, starting at 6 p.m. on rue Notre-Dame, between 6e and 18e Avenue. The Arrondissement will also be on site to provide you with information on various subjects and will distribute a little surprise to the children.
