Municipal professionals on strike

A legal strike was called by the Syndicat des professionnelles et professionnels municipaux de Montréal (SPPMM) on October 19, 2026 and remains in effect. There may be changes to some city and borough services over the next few weeks.
Strike periods
Municipal professionals are striking:
- From Monday to Thursday between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. the next day
- From 5 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Monday

Essential services related to public health and safety are being maintained.
