Hundreds of residents attended the celebration, giving young people, families, and skateboarding enthusiasts an opportunity to discover the new facility. Skateboard demonstrations, free introductory lessons, music, friendly competitions, skateboard customization workshops, and community booths were among the highlights of the event.

A new place to get active and connect

Built through a $1.7 million investment, the new skatepark provides young people with a modern, safe, and accessible space to enjoy skateboarding and other wheeled sports.

Located at Parc d’À-Ma-Baie, near the À-Ma-Baie Youth Centre, the Gerry-Robertson Community Centre, and the Sunnybrooke REM station, the site is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, or by public transit.

With this new skatepark, we want to provide young people with a modern, safe, and inclusive space where they can be active, develop their skills, and connect with one another. This is a tangible investment in our community’s quality of life and in the vitality of our borough.

A successful opening made possible by many partners

The opening event was organized in collaboration with Technical Skateboards and the Circonflexe program of Sport et Loisirs de l’Île de Montréal.

Skateboards for Hope was also on site, offering activities and a skateboard customization workshop.

Thanks to the involvement of these partners, participants were able to enjoy free activities and discover skateboarding in a welcoming and safe environment.

With this new facility, Pierrefonds-Roxboro is expanding its local recreational offerings and creating a new gathering place for youth and families in the borough.
