Are you a parent with a child who is 5 years old or under? Then the Festiv’ÉLÉ, organized by the Arrondissement de Lachine’s libraries, is for you!

April 11-18, this festival to awaken children to reading and writing will be in full swing at the Bibliothèque Saul-Bellow library as well as at the Bibliothèque de Saint-Pierre.

Living up to its slogan Si on lit tout-petit, on lit toute la vie (“If you read as a tiny tot, you’ll enjoy a lifetime of reading a lot”), the Festiv’ÉLÉ offers families a wide range of activities, readings and games, many with a common theme: farm animals

For parents

On April 17, at the Bibliothèque Saul-Bellow, a speech therapist from the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal will provide information on language development in young children. A drop‑in daycare service will be graciously provided by the Centre multi-ressources de Lachine (CMRL) so that parents can fully benefit from the presentation.

Afterwards, a short parent‑child activity on tips for encouraging early literacy will be offered by Joannie Boire from the Fraser‑Hickson Institute.

Space is limited for some activities. Register soon!
