Redevelopment of boulevard Lalande and parc de la Promenade-Lalande

The Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough has completed the redevelopment of boulevard Lalande and parc de la Promenade-Lalande.
Un boulevard plus sécuritaire et convivial
The work carried out has improved safety along the boulevard, enhanced waterfront public spaces and helped protect the banks of Rivière des Prairies. Improvements include:
- the addition of a sidewalk;
- the installation of dedicated bicycle lanes;
- the paving of the section between rue Saraguay and rue Colonial;
- the conversion of this section to one-way eastbound traffic.
These improvements make travel safer and more comfortable for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. They also address the needs of the many students who attend nearby schools.
A revitalized waterfront Park
At parc de la Promenade-Lalande, the project has created a more welcoming and climate-resilient environment through:
- the creation of new seating and gathering areas;
- the addition of street furniture;
- the implementation of a new landscape design;
- the stabilization of a shoreline section affected by erosion;
- the planting of 75 trees and 8,500 shrubs and perennials.
These improvements contribute to the protection of riparian environments, support local biodiversity and strengthen the resilience of the banks of Rivière des Prairies.
A $4.5 Million Investment
The project represents a total investment of $4.5 million, funded primarily through the Pierrefonds-Roxboro Borough's Ten-Year Capital Expenditure Program. Financial assistance of $525,000 from the Québec Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable, provided through the Programme d'aide financière au développement des transports actifs dans les périmètres urbains (TAPU), also supported the construction of the pedestrian and cycling infrastructure.
Lasting Benefits for the Community
Thanks to these improvements, the area now benefits from a safer transportation corridor, enhanced public spaces and a better-protected shoreline environment. The project reflects the Borough's commitment to creating high-quality living environments that support active transportation, public safety and the protection of natural areas.
