Collection services

For all areas that are not impacted by street closures, the usual collection schedule remains in effect.

If your residence is located on on a street that is either closed or reserved for local traffic only, collection services will be provided on the usual days, at two separate times, as follows:

• Very early in the morning, prior to the street closure
• In the evening, after the street reopens to vehicular traffic

 To facilitate collection operations and activities:

• Take your bins to the curb on the evening prior to the scheduled collection.
• Remove the bins as soon as possible on the morning following the collection.
• Write your address on your bins, so that they may be returned, should they get misplaced. 
• In the event that you were unable to take your bins to the curb the evening before the scheduled collection day, you may take them out as soon as the street is reopened, before 7 p.m., on collection day.

After waste collection, bins may be left on the street corner nearest to the closure site.

Street Closures and Traffic

From September 23 to 27, 2026, certain streets in Outremont will be closed to traffic to allow the competitions to take place.

Traffic will be prohibited on the race routes, except for emergency vehicles. Closures will generally begin around 7:00 a.m., approximately two hours before the start of the events, and will remain in effect until the route reopens.

Pedestrian crossings and walkways will be set up at various locations to facilitate travel for people moving on foot.

Parking

To help reduce the impacts of restrictions related to the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, exceptional parking measures will be in effect from September 23 to 27, 2026, inclusive.

No Parking Along the Route

In areas affected by the competitions, no parking restrictions will take effect at 11:59 p.m. on September 22.

The mitigation measures will only come into effect on September 23. During the day on September 22, residents must continue to comply with the regular parking regulations applicable to their area:

• 2-hour maximum zones: parking permitted from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
• Resident-only zones: parking permitted from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Vehicles must be moved before the parking restrictions indicated by the temporary signage installed on site come into effect. Vehicles left in a restricted zone may be towed.

Mitigation Measures

The following measures apply within the areas bounded by the streets listed below and shown in red on the map:

• Lajoie Avenue, McEachran Avenue, Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, and Robert Avenue
• Pagnuelo Avenue, Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, and Mont-Royal Boulevard

Within these areas, starting September 23:

• Maximum 2-hour parking restrictions will be suspended.
• Parking prohibitions related to street maintenance will be suspended.

Holders of a parking permit may use on-street resident-only parking spaces (SRRR) according to the access rights associated with their permit zone:

• Zone 1 permit: parking permitted in Zone 1 only
• Zone 3 permit: parking permitted in all zones (1, 3 and 4)
• Zone 4 permit: parking permitted in Zones 1 and 4 only

Support Local Businesses

Businesses and restaurants on Laurier Avenue West will remain accessible throughout the event.

To facilitate access to the area:

• Parking restrictions related to street maintenance will be suspended on the following streets:
  • Bloomfield Avenue, between Laurier Avenue West and Fairmount Avenue West;
  • de l’Épée Avenue, between Saint-Joseph Boulevard and Fairmount Avenue West;
  • Querbes Avenue, between Saint-Joseph Boulevard and Fairmount Avenue West;
  • Durocher Avenue, between Laurier Avenue West and Fairmount Avenue West.
• Thirteen free parking spaces with a 45-minute maximum stay will be available on streets perpendicular to Laurier Avenue West.
• The four parking lots located behind Laurier Avenue West will remain accessible.
• Regular parking rates will continue to apply.
• Parking spaces will be reserved for customers of local businesses.

We encourage you to continue supporting local businesses throughout the event.

Plan your trips

Allow extra time for your trips. Whenever possible, use the metro, bus, bicycle, or walk.

Traffic Mitigation Measures

• Increased police presence at key traffic points.
• Temporary signage and detour routes will be in place.
• Traffic will be managed dynamically to facilitate local travel.
• Access to residences and businesses will be maintained whenever possible.
