Old Montréal and Centre-Sud will be particularly impacted on September 19, 20, 21 and 22 and the Peter-McGill district on September 26 and 27 by the following: 

• Changes to collection schedules 
• Delivery delays 
• Significant traffic obstructions 
• Street closures 
• Vehicular traffic bans 
• Parking restrictions 

Collection services 

For all areas that are not impacted by street closures, the usual collection schedule remains in effect. 

If your residence is located on on a street that is either closed or reserved for local traffic only, collection services will be provided on the usual days, at two separate times, as follows: 

• Very early in the morning, prior to the street closure 
• In the evening, after the street reopens to vehicular traffic 

 To facilitate collection operations and activities: 

• Take your bins to the curb on the evening prior to the scheduled collection. 
• Remove the bins as soon as possible on the morning following the collection. 
• Write your address on your bins, so that they may be returned, should they get misplaced. 
• In the event that you were unable to take your bins to the curb the evening before the scheduled collection day, you may take them out as soon as the street is reopened, before 7 p.m., on collection day. 

After waste collection, bins may be left on the street corner nearest to the closure site. 

Deliveries and private collection services 

If you are scheduled to receive deliveries or if you use private waste collection services: 

• Plan the operations ahead of time. 
• Inform your suppliers of any street closures and their potential impact or delivery drop-off zones. 
• If possible, schedule operations after 7 p.m. or before 6 a.m. 

Street closures 

Vehicular traffic will be prohibited along the itinerary, except for emergency response vehicles. 

In the western portion of Old Montreal the following streets are added: 

• Rue De Callière;
• Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, between Saint-Paul Ouest and de la Commune Est;
• Place d’Youville, between Saint-François-Xavier and de la Commune Ouest.

In Centre-Sud the following streets are added: 

• Rue Robin, between Saint-Timothée and Wolfe.

In Peter-McGill district the following streets are added: 

• Avenue du Docteur-Penfield 
• Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest 
• Sherbrooke Ouest 

Streets will be closed two hours before the races begin, around 7 a.m. They will reopen after the end of the races. See the interactive map for details. 

Significant impacts on traffic 

Traffic congestion is anticipated as follows: 

• In Old Montréal and Centre-Sud from September 19 to 22 
• In the Peter-McGill district on September 26 and 27 
• Generally, across the city, for the entire duration of the Championships, until September 27 

Take the metro, bus, bike or walk if possible. If you live in Old Montréal or Centre-Sud and need to use your car, the following are preferred routes: 

Eastbound: 

• Autoroute Ville-Marie 
• Rue Sherbrooke.

Northbound: 

• Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges 
• Avenue De Lorimier. 

Pedestrian crosswalks and overpasses 

Crossings and overpasses will be configured in various locations along the itinerary, to streamline pedestrian traffic. See the interactive map to find the specific locations. 

Parking 

Parking will be prohibited on the race itineraries, as follows: 

In Old Montréal and Centre-Sud: 

• Starting on September at 12 a.m. (midnight) 
• Until the end of the races, on September 22. 

In Peter-McGill district: 

• Starting on September 26 September 12 a.m. (midnight) 
• Until the end of the races, on September 27. 

Vehicles left in prohibited areas will be towed away. Please comply with the signs in place. 

For users of private parking  

If your vehicle is either: 

• Parked in a private parking space along the itinerary 
• Or parked on a street that is closed to vehicular traffic 

And you need to use it during the day, be sure to relocate it before 7 a.m. You may return to your parking space after the races end. 

If your parking space is located along the itinerary, the borough can issue a resident street parking sticker, free of charge, which can be used to park in resident street parking zones elsewhere in your borough. You can obtain your sticker at your borough’s Accès Montréal office during office hours. 

If your parking space is located along the itinerary, in Old Montréal, the borough is offering free access to a parking lot. To obtain your parking coupon, go to your Accès Montréal office during office hours. 

Special parking mitigation measures 

To mitigate the impacts of parking restrictions, various alternatives will be offered: 

• Holders of resident street parking stickers in Ville-Marie borough will be allowed to park in any other resident street parking zone across the borough. 
• Parking bans for street cleaning will be lifted. 
• The two-hour maximum parking period will be lifted.
