Description
After a two-year renovation project launched in 2024, this iconic borough venue is reopening in the fall of 2026 to welcome skaters as well as all local sports clubs.
A vibrant tribute to women in sports
The arena's new name celebrates the historic presence of women on our territory and their pioneering role in ice sports. This arena has long been recognized for hosting numerous hockey, skating and ringette leagues, in addition to welcoming roller derby activities.
Modern and ecological infrastructure
Major renovation work allows the facility to meet rigorous environmental standards and target LEED ecological certification. The completed upgrades include :
- A complete roof renovation to maximize the building's energy efficiency.
- The construction of a new technical pavilion to the south of the building, facing Saint-Dominique Street, to house a modern and highly secure refrigeration system.
- The addition of planted areas and greenery to combat urban heat islands.
- The installation of a high-performance rainwater retention basin to the north, harmoniously integrated into the outdoor landscape.
Activities and programming
Throughout the year, the aréna des Patineuses offers a variety of activities for families, skating enthusiasts and athletes of all levels.
