Economic development commissioners are available to guide you through the business start-up process:

Find a property or a commercial space
Learn about government financial assistance programs
Get permits to expand or renovate your establishment.

In addition, commissioners facilitate the formation of business groups and merchant associations, and they help promote the development of commercial streets in the boroughs
