2025 Budget
The Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro adopted its budget for 2025 and its 2025-2034 Ten-Year Capital Expenditure Program (CEP) on Monday, October 7, 2024, during a special council sitting. Revenues for the borough in 2025 are estimated at $1,450,700, representing a 4.9% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the borough received a budget transfer of $27,426,200 from Ville de Montreal.
2025 Budget Highlights
For the year 2025, the borough will increase the local tax by 3%, making the rate $0.0693 per $100 of property assessment. This translates into a modest increase of 0.3% on the overall tax bill, mainly reflecting inflation on borough contracts.
This increase will enable the Borough to maintain a diversified, high-quality service offering. We are presenting a balanced budget, the fruit of rigorous management adapted to the current economic context.
The operating budget for 2025 is $38,8M, compared with $37,2M in 2024, the increase being mainly due to higher salaries and contracts as a result of provincial inflation. The borough will use $1.1M of its accumulated surplus to balance the budget.
70.7% of funding comes from central transfers, 22.7% from local service charges, 3.7% from local sources and 2.9% from surplus appropriation.
The borough will focus on improving parks, green spaces and civic infrastructures. The investment budget for 2025 is set at $5,8 million, prioritizing projects such as the À-Ma-Baie skatepark and the redevelopment of Pierrefonds-Roxboro town hall.
