Two working groups have the role of informing Lachine Borough Council on urban planning issues: the CCU or comité consultatif d’urbanisme (urban planning advisory committee) and the CDD or comité de démolition (demolition committee).

The members of these committees meet in private and have no decision-making power.

The CCU

The CCU has the responsibility of examining files related to urban planning and land-use planning and making recommendations to Lachine Borough Council.

The CCU examines such matters as requests for minor exemptions, applications for construction permits in sectors of the borough that are subject to a site planning and architectural integration program, and requests for specific construction, alteration or occupancy projects. Comprehensive development plans and demolition permit applications are also evaluated by this committee.

The CDD

The CDD has the responsibility of examining and making decisions regarding demolition permit applications on the territory of Lachine.

Members of the committees

These two committees are composed of the same members and include two elected officials, residents and employees of the borough’s Direction de l’aménagement du territoire et des services aux entreprises.

Elected officials:

  • Micheline Rouleau, Borough councillor
  • Maja Vodanovic, Mayor of the borough of Lachine

Residents (a call for nominations is made every two years):

  • Mélanie Cherrier, Maxime Descoteaux, Jacqueline Kost, Bruno Landry and Julie-Louise Levasseur
