Musée de Lachine: Tours and conferences for groups

The Musée de Lachine offers free guided tours for groups of all ages to discover local history and heritage. Our facilitators will also travel to present lectures especially for residents of long-term care and assisted living facilities.

Guided history tour 

The Musée de Lachine welcomes groups of 5 to 15 people. 

Two tours are offered: 

Old Lachine 

The tour begins in Ranger Park, in front of Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne, and ends at the west end of Promenade Père-Marquette. You’ll discover the history of Lachine, from the days of New France to the early 20th century. 

Length: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes 

Tour distance: 2.3 km 

Parc René-Lévesque 

With more than 20 monumental sculptures, Parc René-Lévesque is a place where art and nature come together. Discover the works of major contemporary artists while learning more about the history of the park and Lachine. 

Length: Approximately 1 hour 

Tour distance: 1 km 

Lectures for seniors 

Two lectures are offered free of charge to seniors in long-term care and assisted living facilities: 

History of the Dawes Brewery 

The Dawes family transformed Lachine by establishing one of the country’s first breweries in the early 19th century. Discover its history and how the buildings evolved after the brewery closed in the 1930s.

Discover the Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne 

The Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne is recognized as the oldest complete house in Montréal. Discover the history and lifestyles of the people who lived here. Historical items and real archaeological artifacts are presented during the lecture.
