Reconstruction and redevelopment of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine
This project is situated in Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and Outremont.
It aims to rebuild sewer pipes, water pipes, pavement and sidewalks, and upgrade lighting and traffic lights.
From December 20, 2025 to Spring 2026 : during the winter season, the construction site will be dismantled, obstructions will be removed and all streets will be reopened to traffic.
About this project
When?
From April 2025 to July 2026
The project will take place over two years (2025 and 2026), with a break each winter to restore traffic and reduce impacts on mobility.
Since it is not possible to replace both main water mains at the same time without interrupting the water supply, the project will be carried out in several phases.
This phasing has been carefully planned to:
- Ensure site safety
- Maintain essential services
- Limit disruption in the area
Thanks to coordination, extended working hours and completing several phases simultaneously, the project will be completed ahead of schedule. The project was scheduled for completion in 2027, but will now be finished in early July 2026.
Where?
The project will be carried out on Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, between Avenue de Woodbury and Avenue de Stirling, as well as the intersection with Avenue de la Brunante.
The Hôpital CHU Sainte-Justine, the Faculté de l’aménagement building of the Université de Montréal and the Côte-Sainte-Catherine building of HEC Montréal will always be accessible during the construction period through the local traffic area.
What?
- Replacement of 1928 primary water mains
